More than just a retro brand

Pécskövi TiborToday nostalgia isn’t enough for market success – soft drink manufacturer Márka knew this really well when a few years ago they started rebuilding the brand that used to be successful in the 1970s and 1980s. Tibor Pécskövi, the company’s managing director told our magazine that his family enterprise took over the carbonated soft drink brand – which was born in 1973 – in 2007. Today there are nearly 50 Márka products available in shops. These represent high quality and they are sold at affordable prices. The company directly delivers Márka products to more than 1,300 selling points – by this ensuring better visibility and more efficient brand communication. In the last 4 years sales tripled, in part thanks to launching iced tea, syrup, lemonade and fruit juice products too. Although the characteristic old Márka logo was kept, in product composition, packaging and advertising Márka products meet all the requirements of our modern age. For instance the new products contain no preservatives and they use only natural flavouring agents and colourings. The brand’s image is best summed up with the words: nice, healthy, family. New Márka products will appear in stores in the autumn.
